Community Service Day has been a Windermere tradition for 35 years! One Friday each year, we look forward to Windermere offices closing their doors as brokers, staff, and owners head out into the community to support local organizations through various on-site projects.
Take a look below to read what our East, Inc. offices said about how they made a difference at their individual project sites this year!
BELLEVUE
JUBILEE REACH
Our office helped out at Jubilee REACH for Community Service Day. Giving back since 1984, we participated in various activities to help refresh the center’s appearance for 2019 such as window washing, landscaping, painting and staining, and organizing the art room and library. Over 60 people came out to volunteer their time and give back to their community. The event was a huge success!

YARROW BAY
FRIENDS OF YOUTH
For Community Service Day 2019, our agents and staff came together with Lori Gill and Associates to serve at Friends of Youth. We got dirty landscaping, weeding and pruning. A few managed to avoid the rain by working on sorting and organizing at the donation center. In a few hours’ time, we managed to spruce up the curb appeal as well as coordinate their formidable clothing donations down to type, size and color!

REDMOND
MADRONE SCHOOL
Our Community Service Day project was at the Madrone School, a private non-profit that provides a specialized program for children with autism in the Greater Seattle area. Our brokers and staff helped with weeding, power washing, cleaning, and landscaping the school. We were so grateful to help out our local community!

BELLEVUE SOUTH
VISION HOUSE
We spent this year’s Community Service Day at Vision House in Renton. Vision House is a social service agency that fights to help break the cycle of homelessness for families with children. We helped shovel, wheelbarrow, and spread fresh wood chips around their playgrounds, mowed lawns, weed whacked, pressure washed, organized their Resident Store, helped with mailers, made thank you calls to their donors, washed cars and more! This project gave us an opportunity to make a positive difference with homelessness in our local community where our Windermere teams live, work, and play.
BELLEVUE WEST
ACRES OF DIAMONDS
At Acres of Diamonds we helped clean and paint rooms for women entering the housing program. We also fixed bike equipment and landscaped all around the property. It was a wonderful experience and we’re thankful for the opportunity to volunteer with an organization that’s making such a positive impact for mothers and children experiencing homelessness in our community.

ISSAQUAH
COUGAR MOUNTAIN ZOO
We served our community at the Cougar Mountain Zoo getting a glimpse at a day in the life of a zookeeper. Our day included cleaning the reindeer, alpaca and monkey pens, building a cinder block wall as the base of a new exhibit, and landscaping large overgrown areas. The weather was not permitting, but we made the most of our conditions and finished all of our tasks just as the real storm rolled in. It was another great year at the Zoo and we are grateful for the ongoing relationship we have with their kind staff.
